You can have the best rifle on the range and the cleanest trigger in the world, but if your protective equipment is poorly chosen, you’ll pay the price sooner or later. Hearing loss, a fragment in the eye, a powder burn on the forearm: these aren’t catastrophic scenarios, they’re ordinary incidents at a poorly equipped range.
